Apple defies Donald Trump, set to Assemble New Mac Pro in China
Apple has risked being called out by Trump by announcing that the new Mac Pro will be assembled in China instead of the United States. You may recall that the iPhone are all made and assembled in China. The Apple Mac Pro has been produced in Austin Texas since 2013 but all that is about to change. Now the company is shifting the production from Texas to China for reasons yet to be mentioned.
However, this move doesn’t really surprise most people. Mainly because over 90% of all Apple products are either made or assembled in China. The move will rather upset Trump who is still planning to place a 25% tariff on all products imported from China. Trump has previously blasted the company for not making its products in the United States.
Notwithstanding an Apple spokesperson has reacted to questions about the new move. He said the new Mac Pro still has lots of components that will be made in the United States. It’s only the final assembly of the device that will be done in China. According to him, there are many processes in the manufacturing of the Apple Mac Pro and the final assembly is only one of the process.
