Whenever Apple is set to unveil any new product, the whole planet shakes. It makes no difference if it;s an iPhone, iPad, OS, MacBook etc. As long as it’s coming from Apple, it’s going to be major hit. The all new Apple 2018 MacBook Air is here and it’s truly futuristic. The device has already been around for a few days so you might be wondering why is the review coming now ? Well, the answer is tech experts like us need to unbox it first. Use it for a few days before doing a comprehensive hands on review of the product. This way you already know much about the product.
This super-slim Apple MacBook Air has gotten a much-needed upgrade, keeping the name, but changing just about everything else, both outside and in. This classic MacBook Air has been in existence ffor 10 years now and has been one of the most gadgets of all time. One thing I really love about this product is the design, the higher-res displays, thin screen bezels, bigger touchpads, regular component upgrades, and thinner and lighter bodies. It keeps getting slimmer and lighter.
The new Apple MacBook Pro 2018 is a little larger than the, smaller than the 13-inch Pro, and much different from the classic Air. One unique feature about this product is the fact that this is the first Mac with an enclosure made completely from recycled aluminum. I think it’s safe to call it the extra light version of the 13-inch Pro.
Apple MacBook Air 2018 display
The 13.3-inch screen can finally call itself a Retina Display. To be specific, it’s an LED-backlit screen with 2,560 x 1,600 resolution, or 227 pixels per inch. However, Apple says this display shows 48 percent more colors than the previous generation. Both of these upgrades are absolutely noticeable if you’re upgrading from an older Air to this latest one. You should note that this is the same screen technology already in use on the 12-inch MacBook. The color spectrum Apple is touting is actually sRGB.
Apple MacBook Air 2018 Processor
On the MacBook Air, the keyboard, trackpad and Touch ID fingerprint sensor are all the same with that on the more expensive MacBook Pro. These backlit keys are the third iteration of Apple’s “Butterfly” keyboard design. Under the hood of this beautiful masterpiece is a The processor inside the new MacBook Air is an 8th Gen, dual-core Intel Core i5 1.6GHz processor, 8GB of RAM and Intel UHD Graphics 617 inside this machine. Apple and Intel has a great working relationship togather so I’m not surprised. The has already chosen Intel to provide chips for it’s first 5G iPhone set to debut in 2020.
Apple MacBook Air 2018 battery life and other juicy features
Other juicy stuff in this gadget is the 25-percent louder speakers, Hey Siri, webcam quality and, of course battery life. On that last count, Apple claims the Air can achieve 12 hours of runtime in web browsing mode, and 13 hours for iTunes video playback. Of course not forgetting the Touch ID, the T2 security chip, a larger trackpad, and a smaller design. The new MacBook Air has two USB-C ports that you use to plug everything in, including power. Good news is that there is a headphone jack, thankfully, but no SD card slot. Sorry about that. The Touch ID is powered by Apple’s T2 chip.
Apple MacBook Air 2018 price, storage and final keynote
The base $1,199 of the new Apple MacBook Air 2018 model comes with 8GB of RAM (which is enough for most people) and 128GB of storage (which is not). Good thing is that you can upgrade it to 16GB of RAM and 1.5TB of storage if you like. The Battery has a capacity of 50.3Wh, Apple claimed it has 12 hours of web browsing time.
