How to detect hidden camera and listening devices using your smartphone
There are times you walk into an office or hotel room and you suspect that there might be a hidden camera somewhere in the room. For some weird reason, you may be worried about it. Although you are not sure if it’s real or you’re just being paranoid. Your smartphone is a very important tool that can detect the presence of hidden cameras. However, the smartphone is not sophisticated enough to handle advanced hidden cameras.
However, it is still useful because even though hidden cameras cannot be visible to the naked eye, it can be visible to your smartphone. In this post, I will show you two methods that you can use to detect the presence of tiny hidden cameras with your smartphone.
Method one: The use of Android app called “Glint Finder”
However, Glint finder is a powerful android app which supports almost all versions of Android OS. It works with the magnetometer sensor of your smartphone and it is absolutely free. A lot of spy cameras emits electromagnetic waves. Glint finder is one app that can pinpoint electromagnetic waves and also show you exactly where it is coming from.
Just install it and grant it access to use your camera and location, tap “Magnetometer scanning”. Move your phone around the room and if a listening device or camera is hidden in your room it will display it on your screen.
Method two: The use of your smartphone camera
Most spy cameras emit infrared lights that are not visible by the naked eyes. However, the camera lens of your smartphone is powerful enough to detect it if you hold the smartphone close enough. It will appear in your display as white shiny light.
Just launch your smartphone camera, walk around hidden corners of your room and look straight into the display. Furthermore, if you spot any bright shiny white light on your screen Just know that a spy device is hidden around the place.
