Techcapon can confidently inform you that Huawei’s new foldable smartphone will be 5G supported. Although the company has not made many details public yet, we know what to expect. The company has spoken about its plans ahead of the MWC unveiling. The upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona will feature all the smartphone giants in the world. This is where the likes of Xiaomi, Samsung, Oppo, Huawei, and others will unleash the latest weapons in their arsenal.
Huawei CEO Richard Yu made this announcing when talking about the company’s new Huawei’s new 5G chipset. This chipset is expected to power the foldable phone. However, the company has already started teasing the device in their social media handles.
The fact that the image shows a foldable device as well as the tag “Connecting the Future,” speculates 5G. Before now, we already knew the company will release a foldable device this year 2019. Funny thing is, the device does not have a name yet. In fact, non of the foldable devices have a real name as of now!
Based on patents filed by Huawei, a blogger LetsGoDigital has made a render of what the device will look like. However, the fact is that the device might end up looking different from what the render displays. We have laid our techy hands on a concept video showing what to expect of the Huawei foldable phone.

In terms of specs, not much is known about the device. What we know is that it comes with 5G. Also, it is expected to have a screen size of 5 inches, and an open screen size of 8 inches, according to ETNews.
Competition is very high in the foldable smartphone sector right now. LG, SONY, OPPO, SAMSUNG, VIVO etc are all working their tail off to come up with their own. Like I said previously, there’s not much we can do but wait patiently until the phone is released.
