Appoints boyband BTS as global brand ambassador for the flagship SUV
Established in 1967, Hyundai Motor Company has become a household name and a pacesetter in the automotive industry. Launching it’s most sophisticated flagship SUV, the company teamed up with seven-member boyband BTS to celebrate the global launch of its largest three row SUV in it’s lineup, the Palisade. Hyundai unveiled the Palisade for the first time at the LA Auto Show on November 28th.
This all new Palisade is a three-row, large SUV packed with tech, safety and space. It can sit eight adults comfortably. Everything about this SUV screams luxury and high class. The South Korean automaker hopes to establish itself as the king of luxury SUV and send a strong message with the Palisade.
Hyundai prefers to call it a midsize SUV but the new Palisade is larger than the latest Santa Fe and Santa Fe XL. This shows that the company knows exactly what it wants and is ready to satisfy the urge of families who yarn for more room and bigger cars. The size of the car is a whopping 196.1 inches long, 77.8 inches wide, and 68.9 inches tall. The best feature for me is the design. It’s a bold, elite design with a stunning front fascia, large chrome grille and a long hood.
Hyundai Palisade: Front, rear, and side views
Sitting on a massive 20 inch wheel, the all new Palisade commands a powerful presence. At the back is a pair of sweptback LED taillights, a distinctive design and a bold inscription “PALISADE” right across it.
This lovely SUV is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine, pumping out 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission. In terms of technology, the Palisade is no doubt the most sophisticated car in the entire Hyundai line. It’s so rich in tech and futuristic. It features a wireless charging technology, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. Also the possibility to hook up two devices through Bluetooth at the same time. One for mobile phone connection and the other for audio streaming.
Hyundai Palisade interior and Tech
Just when we thought we’ve seen it all, Hyundai unleashes yet more tech in it’s biggest SUV. The Palisade also features shift-by-wire controls on the center console, head-up display, intercom system, adaptive cruise control, and much more. The big bad Palisade offers 18 cubic feet of cargo space right behind the third row of seats and 45.8 cubic feet behind the second row. It boasts of seven USB ports. This literally means everybody has access to charging while on the go. The driver and front passenger has direct access to enjoy wireless charging.
I dont think I can list all the features of this SUV in this post alone. Other mind blowing features includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster, head-up display, Infinity, quilted Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated seating for the second-row captain’s chairs and a whopping 16 cup holders.
However, the Palisade will be produced en masse at the Hyundai plant in Ulsan. Of course hit dealerships in the summer of 2019. No price has been announced yet.
