You can either share it to all your followers or via a selected few through the new “close friend option.” Another interesting fact is that you can also share all your Instagram stories to your Facebook story. All images and videos posted on your story will be visible to all your friends for up to 24 hours. After that, they will disappear forever. In order to download Instagram stories on your iPhone, you have to first install an app called “Story Reposter.” This is very straight forward, all you need to do is go to the app store and search for the app. Install the app and give it access to your photo library. The only disadvantage is that you can’t see people stories automatically. You need to search for each person you follow one after the other just to see their stories and this quite time-consuming.

The “Story Reposter” app itself is completely free of charge and has no charges whatsoever. However, you’re still forced to watch a 5 seconds advert every time you click on a story. This is how the company makes its money. You can equally share the photos and videos via Facebook, Twitter, email and so on. Just click on the share button and you will find the list of apps which you can share them. Note that Story Reposter is exclusive to iOS and the app store and not on Android.

Now to download Instagram story on Android we use a different app known as “Story Saver.” Just like Story Reposter on the app store, Story Saver is very similar and is completely free of charge. However, you have to log into your Instagram account to get started.
The main page automatically shows you all the stories your friends and followers have posted (something not available on story reposter). However, you can still search for others using the search bar.
All you have to do is to tap on the video and photo you want to save and click “save.”
This will automatically create a folder (story saver folder) and save them in your smartphone. You can open your gallery and view them in your story saver folder.

Notwithstanding, it is important to get the permission of the person whose story you’re saving. This is necessary especially if you want to share the same story with your followers. Another tip is that you don’t have to save the stories before you can share them. You can share them directly with your followers without saving them.

This is perhaps the easiest to use. All you have to do is download an app called StoryDownloader. Download and hit the save button and that’s it. Alternatively, if you use the Google Chrome browser, you can install the “Downloader for Instagram” plug-in. It will put a wrapper around Instagram.com, adding download buttons to posts, stories, and even entire accounts. This will save the images, video and stories in a .zip folder.
