Tesla rivals Nikola Motors has unveiled the Nikola Two as well as the Nikola Tre hydrogen-electric semi trucks. Also, the company unveiled three other new emission-free transportation vehicles at its Nikola world 2019 event. The mission of the company is for the heavy truck industry to be rid of its total dependence on diesel. This they’re trying to do with its own hydrogen fuel cell technology, a first of it’s kind.
Nikola Zero-emission vehicles
CEO and founder of Nikola, Trevor Milton hosted the event where the vehicles were unveiled. Beer company Anheuser Busch has already placed its order for 800 Nikola trucks to be delivered to help haul beer across the States. “I cannot wait to see your truck pull a load of Budweiser beer”, an official of the company exclaimed with joy.
Nikola is not into electric cars, at least not yet. What the company is best known for is its upcoming zero-emission heavy-duty trucks. Surprisingly, the Arizona based startup has products for both military and everyday civilians.
The first new vehicle unleashed at the event is the Nikola Reckless. An all-terrain military vehicle designed for rugged and superior performance and stealth. The company also presented it’s 13” ATV infotainment screen which can be completely submerged without been damaged.
Nikola Water Adventure Vehicle
The second product unleashed by the company is the Nikola Water Adventure Vehicle. This product is an all-electric watercraft with an innovative platform
The Nikola NZT off highway Vehicle (OHV)
Just in case you are wondering what NZT stands for, it is the “Net Zero Toll.” This means that the vehicle leaves zero footprints wherever it goes. This vehicle has a powerful zero-emission, zero pollution feature which will set the pace for future automakers in the industry.
Nikola Two and Nikola Tre Class 8 semi trucks
In the truck category, the company unveiled Europe bound Nikola Two and Nikola Tre trucks. “I’ve been preparing for this moment my whole life,” says Milton as the two big trucks rolled out onto the stage.
However, the trucks at the stage were the hydrogen-electric versions. Once production kicks off, the battery only versions will be available for purchase.
