These Chinese guys are not slowing down a bit. Just few days ago Huawei launched the Nova 4 with Sony’s 48MP IMX586 sensor. Honor is planning to launch it’s own V20 with the same camera lens and now Umidigi has announced that it’s up coming midrange smartphone, the Umidigi S3 Pro is going to have a 48MP camera sensor. Funny thing is that this device is not even going to be a flagship, it’s a midrange device. Tech experts are left wondering which sensor the so called flagships are going to be using.
Umidigi S3 Pro design and display
Almost everything about this smartphone screams high-end excepts the name of course. The Umidigi S3 Pro comes loaded with a massive 6.3-inch FHD+ waterdrop notch, full screen paired with in-cell LTPS technology. The waterdrop notch makes it looks sleek and sweet but I would have expected the Infinity-O design.
Umidigi S3 Pro chipset and memory
This is obviously the weak link in this device. Instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon, what we have here is a AI SoC MediaTek Helio P70. That’s not to say the device is going to perform poorly though. It will handle heavy games smoothly considering the fact that it comes loaded with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB internal storage.
Umidigi S3 Pro camera and battery
This is my favorite part of this device. The camera is a solid 48MP main camera at the rear. It will come with a 12MP telephoto camera, and the smartphone will come with a 20MP high-resolution selfie camera. The 48MP camera will make it easy to take long distance shots very clearly. Under the hood of this beast is a massive 5150mAh battery and it’ll sure keep it on for a long time. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack and of course, it will run on the latest Android 9 Pie. the official price is not yet known but we’ll keep you posted as soon as it is released.
