Chinese smartphone giant Vivo has unveiled it’s first 5G smartphone called the Apex 2019. This smartphone is going to be the successor to the Apex 2018, a flagship phone by Vivo. This smartphone is going to be one of the most powerful smartphones in the world when it eventually comes out. The Vivo Apex 2019 was unveiled at an event in China and one thing that actually attracted our attention was the fact that the smartphone has no physical ports just like the new Meizu Zero. According to reports, the Vivo Apex 2019 is crammed with the latest technology from Qualcomm. The 5G smartphone which makes use of Qualcomm’s X50 5G modem also comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor.
However, looking at the specs and design, it is obvious that this device has the best design in all 5G devices we’ve seen so far including that of Samsung. The Vivo Apex 2019 has a great memory storage space of 256GB and a 12GB of RAM. From the design, we can see that it has a dual rear camera setup and an LED flash. The company hasn’t mentioned the exact specs of the cameras although it’s going to be powerful.

Vivo was one of the first companies to introduce the in-display fingerprint sensor last year. The company is actually bringing back that feature in the Apex 2019. However, the company is taking a huge step into the future by introducing what it calls the Full-display fingerprint scanning. This enables users to unlock their smartphone by touching anywhere on the screen of the phone. The display is a curved, bezeless FullView display and supports Vivo’s Jovi virtual assistant.
Another spectacular thing about this device is that it has no selfie camera. However, this might just be the beginning of a new smartphone trend. One where selfie cameras are completely eliminated. The company will be showcasing the phone at the Vivo Apex 2019 at the upcoming MWC 2019 in Barcelona. We don’t know if it will be sold outside China but we hope so.
